Legal Accounts Assistant

We are looking to recruit a full time Legal Accounts Assistant to work in the
Accounts Department.

Experience in working within Solicitors Legal Accounts and knowledge of Solicitors
Accounts Rules is preferred but not essential as training will be given.

Duties include:

Handling of cash and cheques and daily Banking and reconciliation.
Checking all Cashiering Requisitions from all Partners and Secretaries.
Dealing with completions and making payments through the Banking System.
Dealing with all Cardnet payments and attending to daily reconciliation.
Attending to daily Land Registry statements and posting on the computerised system.
Adding properties onto the Chancel Repair Block Policy through Isis on day of completion.
Dealing with monthly statements and posting entries on relevant ledgers.
Setting up Standing Orders and Direct Debit Payments and paying monthly bills.
Preparing/Checking Completion Statements and Estate Accounts.
Reconciling petty cash, office and client account monthly, VAT Quarters and Year
End Balances.
Bank Reconciliation for Partners’ who act as Attorneys for clients.
Supplying Partners with Management Information.
Salaries, PAYE and Nest Pensions on a Monthly basis.
Liaising with Accountants and Auditors.
Computerised Accounting Systems and Case Management and liaising with
Advanced Legal.
Key dates for Partners Income Tax, Quarterly VAT Payments, Salaries, and Pension
Contributions.
Ordering Stationery and Office Equipment and general office supplies.
Regular checks throughout the day of email and attending to queries or passing on information to Partners and other staff members where necessary.
Dealing with Energy Suppliers, Telephone Companies and Photocopier Suppliers etc and their contracts.
Keeping the Web Site up to date.

28 days Annual Holiday plus Bank Holidays

Job Type: Full-time 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday

Salary: £17,290.00-£22,750.00 per year dependent on experience.

Legal Assistant

We are looking to recruit an experienced Legal Assistant to support one of our Partners in relation to Conveyancing, Probate, Wills and Court of Protection matters.

Duties:

Providing administrative and secretarial support to the supervising Partner
Assisting with routine correspondence and enquiries from clients, members of the public and other connected businesses
Using Microsoft Office and ALB Management System
Preparing bills and completion statements and Estate Accounts as required
Maintaining paper and document management files to include inputting data, keeping records, confidential and general filing systems as directed to ensure an effective record of clients
General administrative duties including photocopying, sending faxes, scanning of documents, answering telephones
Assisting Partner with post on a daily basis
Audio Typing on occasions
Attending with Partner upon clients in and out of the office (driving licence preferred but not essential)
Liaising with the Accounts Department when necessary
Skills required:

Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel
Production of legal forms
Competent levels of literacy, numeracy and accuracy.
Excellent standards in the presentation of work.
Well-developed interpersonal skills to include dealing with clients face to face and on the telephone
Well organised, with a high level of attention to detail
Flexible and prepared to support other disciplines as required.
Team player, committed to supporting colleagues across the firm.
